Nafpaktos 26th May

Today we were to thecrack and pinion train journey through the hills and gorge but there was a rock slide over the track so our very capable bus driver drove to the village of Kalavryta instead so that we did not miss out on the experience. The scenery was magnificent and the village delightful, almost like an Alpine skiing village.
Top photo taken from the bus!

The following day we left Nafpaktos for Meteora visiting Delphi on the way.
Delphi has many associations with the gods of mythology and by the end of the Mycenaean period Apollo had displaced all the other deities and became the Guardian of the Oracle! The museum housed so many treasuries including the 'Bronze Charioteer'.  This was quite a fascinating place with so much to see. Good story boards too!
