Rafina May 30 - June 5th

Our taxi driver from Athens to Rafina was very interesting filling us in on contemporary living in Greece, their problems conforming to the EU and  their economy and politics. It was good to get this honest picture of the modern society!
Rafina was all we hoped it would be - a very quiet and comfortable apartment in  the centre of the town, close to all facilities. During thecweek we took many walks and found some good swimming spots. The harbour area was relatively busy with the ferries plying the route to the islands. There were lots of seafood restaurants along the harbour and a pleasant town  square with lots of cafes and icecream shops,
One of our swimming places.
At the beach.
The rown square.
As you can see, blue skies every day and temps in the high 20s and low 30s. Perfect for a week of
RnR!
We left at 3.30 am for the airport for our flight to Manchester via Amsterdam and again enjoyed a stimulating conversation with the driver about contemporary living in Greece and elsewhere!?
Just as we were about to board the flight at 5.30 an were were told that there was a technical issue which would incur a 10 minute delay. Not to be - we took off at 9.15am!! New connections were organised via the KLM app and we got to Manchester in the afternoon  - 11° there and rain, but at least we were where we wantedt  to be.
