Around the city

The blog site is playing up so the report is a bit disjointed!
We are having great walks along the sea shore, beside canals and rivers and through the old city. Yesterday, we clocked up over 15 kms and actually 500 kms since the start of the trip.
A view of the cathedral reflected in part of the river,
Menlo castle on the banks of the river Corrib. There was lots of rowing training taking place on the river in preparation for the Regatta later in the month.

Stopping for a drink on the banks of the river near the Claddagh.

Walking on the prom at Salthill. This is one of our regular walks heading west. The other direction takes us all the way into town.
Today we attended a film performance as part of the festival, with Mattie. There were 6 shorts, all arthouse filmed in Ireland with a variety of themes and beautiful cinematography. Afterwards, lunch at a cottage restaurant on the pier in Salthill.
Because the place is so familiar we tend not to take so many photos. I reminisce about the place as it was in the 50s and 60s, but there are shared memories of the many visits over the years with our kids and the good times we shared then with Mum and the rest of the family.
