Copper Coast continued.

Photos from the rail trail and our visit to Dungarvan earlier.

Dungarvan castle the site of many battles since the 11th century. It is interesting to read about the influence of the Dukes of Devonshire in the area. They still own Lismore castle -  has been their summer residence for centuries.

Such great views on the track and easy walking on a tarmac surface!?
Today we started the walk from a beautiful market town - Killmacthomas. This was inland so no sea views.
Crossing over the Mahon River on the trail.
The mill race in the centre of town.  The old mill, constructed in beautiful local stone is being developed into housing.
On the way back, we tried to capture a picture of the coast and small local harbour but there was a gale blowing so it looks very wild,
On the coast road.
We leave here tomorrow for Galway and are so pleased that we visited here as it so interesting, historically and of course,  the walks and their accessibility are some of the best we encountered anywhere.
